GEI’s Asher H. Peltz, P.E., Receives the 2015 Younger Member Award from ASCE Metropolitan Section

New York City, NY.—July 14, 2015—GEI Consultants, Inc., one of the nation’s leading geotechnical, environmental, water resources, and ecological science and engineering firms, announced today that the Metropolitan Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) presented Asher H. Peltz, P.E., a Project Manager with GEI Consultants, Inc., P.C., with their Younger Member Award. The Younger Member Award is traditionally presented annually to a young civil engineer in recognition of his/her outstanding contributions to the civil engineering profession. Mr. Peltz’s many years of service, character, professional integrity, and many years of volunteering with The Met Section Younger Member Forum contributed to his selection for the prestigious award.

Mr. Peltz has over 10 years of experience with geotechnical engineering projects. As a Project Manager, he is responsible for securing project resources, developing contracts, and monitoring project performance. Mr. Peltz is also a significant member of GEI’s Instrumentation Team. With his thorough knowledge of instrumentation and monitoring, he manages all phases of design, bidding, purchase, testing, installation, training, interpretation, demobilization, and close-out on many of his projects.

Mr. Peltz has volunteered his time with several trade organizations for over 13 years. He is an active member of both the International Society of Explosives Engineers (since 2006) and ASCE (since 2001), having served as ASCE Metropolitan Section Younger Member Forum President (2013 – 2014). In 2014, Mr. Peltz helped organize the successful ASCE Met events, and has authored several articles on the aspects of instrumentation monitoring and deep foundations that have been published in nationwide publications.

The prestigious award was presented to Mr. Peltz at the 2015 ASCE Met Section Annual Dinner Dance held in Queens, NY. He was one of eight award receipients celebrated at the party.
