Watershed Planning Expert Cindy Tejeda Joins GEI
August 5, 2024Tejeda brings expertise in floodplain management and tribal partnerships.
SACRAMENTO, California, August 5, 2024 – Cindy Tejeda has joined GEI Consultants as a Senior Water Resources Planner. Cindy has more than 25 years of experience in civil works planning, policy development, and comprehensive watershed planning. She is a nationally recognized expert in projects involving floodplain management and tribal partnerships with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
“Cindy’s skills in integrated water resources management, program management, and policy development will ensure our projects are economically sound, environmentally sustainable, and compliant,” says Satya Gala, Senior Vice-President and Sacramento Branch Manager at GEI. “She is dedicated to training, mentorship, and collaboration. Cindy thrives on fostering a culture of continuous improvement and effective problem-solving.”
Cindy specializes in advancing integrated water management in the Western U.S., which covers a large number of environmental justice and Tribal communities. Her passion is to partner with federal, state, local and Tribal agencies to deliver urgently needed engineering and environmental services to communities.

Cindy holds a Bachelor of Science in Conservation and Resource Studies from the University of California – Berkeley. As a systems planner, she has served as one of eight regional leads in USACE’s Collaboration and Public Participation Center of Expertise (CPCX) since its inception in 2008. In 2021, Cindy was awarded the South Pacific Division Learning Organization Legacy Award for her innovative mindset, dedicated work ethic, and intellectual ideas.
