Exton, PA (December 11, 2023) – GEI’s Helen Robinson has been honored with the Deep Foundations Institute’s (DFI) President’s Award. This award recognizes foundations experts who provide outstanding contributions and service within the organization, and for advancing the work of the institute. DFI’s goal is to foster a common vision for the continual improvement in the planning, design and construction of deep foundations and excavation.

A Senior Project Manager with GEI, Helen has been a member of DFI for 17 years, currently serving as Co-Chair of the DFI-ADSC Joint Micropile Committee and Trustee of the Educational Trust. Helen has been on the organizing committee for multiple conferences and seminars, Lead Investigator for several Committee Project Fund projects, and past editor of Deep Foundations magazine. She attends conferences and events and is passionate about helping members learn more about career paths and specialties within the geotechnical, design and construction, and foundations industries.

“Helen received this because of her service to DFI in a number of leadership roles,” said Vice President Jesus Gomez. “She has committed time and expertise to help DFI move successfully in new directions, including serving as the Secretary of the Educational Trust Board, the first chair of the DFI Women in Deep Foundations committee and the current lead for the telethon supporting the Paul DeBruyn Fund for student participation at DFI events.”

Helen Robinson, P.E. also serves as branch manager for GEI’s Exton, Pennsylvania office. She has more than 20 years of design and construction experience on projects across the United States and is a licensed professional engineer in several states, including Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Ohio.
