Experienced Contract Administrator Ilene Story Joins GEI

Story specializes in Best Management Practices for Capital Improvement Programs.

CARLSBAD, California, Dec. 9, 2024 – Ilene Story has joined GEI Consultants as a Senior Contract Administrator. Ilene has helped deliver complex capital projects in the San Diego region for decades.

“As an invaluable member of a major Southern California water district, Ilene led a team of contract administrators tasked with delivering design, construction management, and public works contracts for more than $2 billion in capital projects,” says Jerry Reed, P.E., Vice President and Senior Program Manager at GEI. “Her experience managing large capital programs and her expertise in contract management will be pivotal in supporting program and project managers across GEI.”

Ilene was a key team member in developing best management practices to deliver capital projects. She led a team that finalized, advertised, and reviewed requests for proposals for planning, design, and construction management contracts. Her teams also prepared final public work contracts for bidding.

Ilene also brings expertise in public agency procurement and contract management, including the reviewing of public works bid results used for recommending award actions at agency boards.
